Manufacturing takes place in Östersund, Sweden, where the company has been located since its start in the end of the 1960’s. They began as a sub contractor to the Coop stores, but then in 1972 they worked together with the army and some scientists to develop the wool terry cloth material that today is used in their under garments.

They began as a sub contractor to the Coop stores, but then in 1972 they worked together with the army and some scientists to develop the wool terry cloth material that today is used in their under garments. This special material is one that we have long favoured and we sell large amounts of the Woolpower collection every year.
During the making of their wool terry cloth they use the finest Merino wool and polyester /polyamide. The biggest component however, or 80% of the material, is in fact air. The clever thing about this is that air insulates heat and doesn’t loose it. The wool terry cloth is knitted with a comfortable terry cloth layer closest to the body. As well as this making it very nice to wear it also means very few contact areas between the material and the body. This in turn leads to minimal heat loss since again the air is insulating. The wool material does however transport any sweat away from the body. All in all, we can highly recommend the Woolpower collection!
